DESCRIPTION:The Long Beach Film Festival brings a high-energy lineup of independent cinema to the Art Theatre for a packed two-day weekend event on August 29-30\, 2026. The festival will screen a diverse slate of feature narratives\, shorts\, and documentaries\, while offering a dedicated spotlight for local Long Beach creators. Supported by the Arts Council for Long Beach\, the event allows film lovers and filmmakers to connect directly through a curated mix of regional talent and global independent cinema. \nAll screenings and panel discussions will take place at the historic Art Theatre of Long Beach on Retro Row. This neighborhood setting provides the ideal backdrop for the festival’s off-screen events\, which include filmmaker Q&As\, panel discussions\, a special workshop for young filmmakers\, and community networking mixers designed to connect creators directly with attendees and professionals. By bringing together diverse voices\, the festival aims to build a lasting hub for independent film culture in Southern California. \nAll-Festival passes are available on sale now for $75. These passes grant full admission to the complete schedule of general screenings. Individual tickets for single screenings ($10-20) will go on sale in August. DESCRIPTION:Bay Shore Church will be hosting a Community Art Fair and Dinner on August 22\, 2026. Our community is fortunate to have many talented artists who specialize in all varieties of mediums. The theme is “You Are Here\, You Are Hope”. In addition to student art pieces\, we will be accepting submissions from local artists. This community art show will be curated by one of our church members\, and will be displayed in the church Fellowship Hall for a week\, with a reception after worship service. This event will be an opportunity for participants to showcase what the theme of hope and community means to them\, and what makes this community to unique. The dinner will be open to the community.
